On a cold but sunny morning Seventh Wave slipped down the Clyde heading for the West coast. A fresh NEly breeze gave a vigorous sail from Holy Island to 10 miles off Campbeltown. The next day we rounded the Mull and in warm sunshine with very little wind motored up to Loch Craignish where we anchored for the night. The following morning saw a short hop to Craobh marina our summer base

First trip of the season

On a lovely sunny Saturday morning we set off from Kip marina for a days sail. With little wind it was a relaxed gentle motor to Millport where we dropped anchor for lunch. We managed to sail most of the way back in winds going from light to force 5. In all a very successful start.

In fantastic sunny weather the sailmaker appeared with all our sails. The new self tacking job was the first to go on and it fitted well with a gentle breeze filling it. Next was the main then mizzen. Tomorrow it is into the engine room to do vital servicing of the mains engine.

Back in the water nearly ready to go

After a month out doing all the underwater jobs, with a cleanly painted bottom Seventh Wave was launched back into the water. The new generator was also fitted and it started on the button first time….long may it last!
Next week the sails arrive and after some sea trials she should be ready for action

Seventh Wave is now out the water and getting ready for her five year inspection. The new generator has arrived and is now in.

Seventh Wave now in winter mode

After a trip through the Crinan canal Seventh Wave made her way to Kip marina for winter operations. With the seasons bookings over, her sails were taken off as part of rounding systems down for winter.

Visit to Londonderry

On a sunny late afternoon Seventh Wave headed south for N Ireland. After a cracking sail down the Sound of Jura the wind died so we motored into Port Ellen on Islay. The next day saw us crossing a very jumpy North Channel then into the smooth waters of Loch Foyle and an 18 mile trip up to the centre of Londonderry.
After a couple of nights and a exploration of a very nice city we left for the small seaside town Portrush. Sailing through some seriously rough seas we were glad to slip into the peace of the harbour. The following day saw us across the North channel and up to Gigha where the crew had a great time exploring that lovely island. A final run up the Sound of Jura in absolutely calm conditions ended what was a great cruise.
