Seventh Wave is now out the water and getting ready for her five year inspection. The new generator has arrived and is now in.
On a sunny late afternoon Seventh Wave headed south for N Ireland. After a cracking sail down the Sound of Jura the wind died so we motored into Port Ellen on Islay. The next day saw us crossing a very jumpy North Channel then into the smooth waters of Loch Foyle and an 18 mile trip up to the centre of Londonderry.
After a couple of nights and a exploration of a very nice city we left for the small seaside town Portrush. Sailing through some seriously rough seas we were glad to slip into the peace of the harbour. The following day saw us across the North channel and up to Gigha where the crew had a great time exploring that lovely island. A final run up the Sound of Jura in absolutely calm conditions ended what was a great cruise.
Have just arrived back after another fantastic cruise. Weather although a bit cool has been great. Have done some of the best sailing of the season. Crossed the Minch to the ‘whisky galore island’ of Eriskay. Saw schools of dolphins leaping out of the water, also a sea eagle. Visited Rhum where some crew members walked the cullins of Rhum.

We slipped lines on a glorious sunny late afternoon, a couple of hours later down went the anchor in beautiful Loch Spelve on Mull. Next day after passing through the Sound of Mull and rounding the infamous Ardnamurchan point we anchor in a bay at The island of Eigg. It was then on to the most stunning anchorage on Scotland Loch Scavaig, under the Cullins on Skye. we then headed south going west of Mull passing Iona down to another remote anchorage on Jura. Finally an exciting sail through Coryvreken and over the whirlpool put the final touch to a very special cruise.
Left Craobh Marina Thursday afternoon with a crew of six guys. Anchored in beautiful Loch Spelve for the what was a wild blustery night. After a hearty breakfast it was up anchor, After motoring out of the Loch and turning North with genoa unfurled and mizzen set with one reef in we had a fantastic sail (in winds gusting gale force) all the way to Tobermory. Crew were elated. Tomorow we head back down the Sound of Mull to Oban.
Leaving Kip Marina on a sunny evening we anchored two hours later in pretty Millport. Weighing anchor it was then off to Campbeltown arriving after a cracking sail. With steady SEly winds of F5/6 we rounded the awesome Mull of Kintyre and ran on the genoa all the way to Port Ellen on Islay.
